Taylor Kennedy

Taylor Kennedy returns to Rochester after having lived in New York City for four years to gain her MFA in Printmaking at The Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. She joins our teaching staff as a children’s teacher of drawing, painting, and clay. While in New York, Taylor taught at the Painted Cloud studio, working with artists as young as 3-years old and as mature as 17.
Taylor has been working as a Teaching Artist full time since graduating in 2017, merging her love of being in the studio with her love of sharing her artistic knowledge, which includes traditional and non-toxic printmaking, painting, drawing, and ceramics. She firmly believes that everyone (young to older, novice to advanced) brings something to the table, and building a community-based rapport in the studio strengthens everyone’s art practice and personal lives.
She also holds a BFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology, in Fine Art Studio. Taylor’s practice includes large-scale narrative drawings, paintings, and installed ephemeral works. She has shown at the Boiler/Pierogi Gallery, The Rubelle and Norman Schafler Gallery at the Pratt Institute, and the International Print Center of New York.
In 2019, Taylor has been an artist-in-residence at the Sodus Central School District, in Sodus, NY through an arts enrichment grant and spent the month of May at Main Street Arts in Clifton Springs, NY.
