The last of six lectures by artists in the 5th Rochester Biennial features the team of Larson & Shindelman (Marni Shindelman of Rochester and Nate Larson of Baltimore). Their lecture is included in Gallery admission.
"Our collaborative work examines virtual communication and its impact on physical encounters," write Shindelman and Larson of the photographs featured in the exhibition. "Twitter now estimates there are over 50 million tweets daily, which together create a new level of digital noise. For this work, we mine the public time line of tweets for those with GPS coordinates, then travel to photograph the site of the update, and include the original tweet below the finished image."
They were recently awarded this year's Public Art Commission by Atlanta Celebrates Photography. Learn more
