Sue Barnes

Sue Barnes

A teacher of all levels for more than 15 years, Sue Barnes remembers taking her first pottery class at the MAG as a high school student.

Sue earned a BA at SUNY Brockport with a BA in therapeutic recreation and a minor in ceramics. She is an active studio potter who has taught at Genesee Pottery, RMSC, ArtsReach, and Tom or Nick’s Ceramics, as well as on the road at many different sites with children. Her classes focus on skill development, creativity and finding one’s way with clay.

Sue is proud to be involved with Empty Bowls Rochester, which is a way local potters help the homeless in their own community.
