It’s a total eclipse and some art at MAG! Witness a once-in-a-lifetime celestial event where Rochester will experience a total solar eclipse and be in the direct line of totality!

Watch the Eclipse

Bring your blankets to cozy up and camp out in our Centennial Sculpture Park, featuring sculptures from influential, contemporary artists, including Rashid Johnson, Pia Camil, Sanford Biggers, and more. Want to tour CSP before you arrive (and so you can scout out your spot)? Click here for a guide. Warm up with a nice cup of cocoa or coffee, tasty half-moon cookies, and other delights from Brown Hound Downtown, with music playing your favorite space tunes.

Make Some Art

Enjoy a make-it and take-it with the Creative Workshop from 11 am to 2 pm, as well as a special community art project with Roc Paint Sip, Rochester’s premium mobile paint and sip company. Inspired by Rochester’s place along the path of totality, participants paint a portion of a larger canvas, piecing together the story of our community during this once-in-a-lifetime event.

Also sign up for one of our Eclipse of the Art Workshops on Saturday, April 6, to paint an eclipse-themed landscape of your very own!

Enjoy the Museum

Enjoy exploring the museum galleries from 11 am to 2 pm, with the purchase of an admission ticket. (Galleries are located through the glass doors, steps away from the viewing party!)

Spring Break Special: Kids ages 6 to 18 receive FREE museum admission (valid only with an accompanying adult ticket).

Due to capacity restrictions, Yayoi Kusama’s INFINITY MIRRORED ROOM – LET’S SURVIVE FOREVER, 2017, will be closed during this event.

Please note: the building will close at 2 pm.

Display of eclipse-themed posters, postcards, pins, stickers, eclipse glasses, and a candle.
