Drawing of a statue of a nude woman.

July 9–30, 2026
4 weeks, Thursdays

Taught by: Dejan Pejovich

Sketchbook drawing is largely about capturing a setting and a fleeting moment rather than a faithful recording. It is a way of keeping a travel diary that disappeared with the advent of the camera. Rather than taking a snapshot, sketchbook drawing is an exercise in looking intensely. We will meet weekly in a public location in the Rochester area, capturing the essence of that unique moment in time. Our drawing practice will focus on location, perspective, ambiance, travel portraiture, gesture, and fleeting impressions.
