People mingling and having fun at a Make a Connection! event.

We invite you to spark something new — whether it’s a friendship, a flirtation, or just a fun night out. Join us for Make a Connection!, an evening inspired by the exhibition Determined to Be: The Sculpture of John Rhoden.

This event brings people together to discover unexpected common ground. Come ready to mix, mingle, and maybe meet someone who brings a little extra color to your canvas.

What to Expect

  • Cash bar and complimentary light fare beginning at 6:00 pm
  • Quickfire presentations from 6:30–7:15 pm, where participants (or their loyal friends) take the mic for a 2 minute slideshow-style spotlight celebrating their best qualities (attendees can watch without participating)
  • Post-presentation mingling throughout the museum’s galleries, where the connections continue
  • NOTA Nightcap – Keep the conversation going at Carnegie Cellars Wine after the event

Presentations

Feeling bold? Want to show off a friend or yourself? Promote yourself or your friends in a positive light with a 2 minute slideshow highlighting best features!

Don’t have someone to present for you? Don’t worry—submit a slideshow and we’ll present it for you.

  1. You must sign up in advance to reserve a spot as space is limited. Fill out our online form by Friday, August 7, at 8:00 pm.
  2. Keep it fun, friendly, and positive.
  3. Feel free to include images, but make sure that they are appropriate (we have nudes in the museum – we don’t need to see yours).
  4. Keep it short and sweet—each presentation gets 2 minutes! See an example presentation.
