6 weeks, Wednesdays

Taught by: Roxana Aparicio Wolfe

We continue our look at American Art Movements with The Ashcan School, a group of early 20th-century artists who captured gritty images of New York City’s emerging urban landscape. Called ‘Art War Rebels’, these artists challenged European dominance and forged a modern image of America. Our sessions will include presentations and gallery activities, and explore the works of Robert Henri, John Sloan, Jerome Myers, and others.
