Discover the endless possibilities of hand-building with clay. In this imaginative, hands-on class, you’ll learn to create both functional and sculptural ceramic pieces using techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab-building. Explore forms that the wheel can’t create—build on a form, within a form, and beyond it. No prior clay experience is needed—your instructor will guide you through each step with approachable lessons and plenty of creative encouragement. Bring an old kitchen towel you don’t mind getting messy, it’s going to be a fun, muddy adventure!
NEW: The cost of the class includes one 25-pound bag of clay, provided to students on the first day of class. Glazes and firing are also included in the class price. Please bring an old kitchen-sized towel you don’t mind getting dirty, and wear closed-toe shoes.
Registration for this program starts on Monday, March 2, at 10:00 am for MAG Members, and Monday, March 9, at 10:00 am for Not-Yet-Members. Online registration ends on Monday, April 13, at 6:00 pm.
Programs with inadequate enrollment are cancelled one week before the first meeting. We will attempt to contact you via email to find an alternative program or to refund your registration fee.
