Skyler Elfeldt is an artist and art educator, passionate about helping anyone find their love for art. She encourages her students to include their interests and use these to inspire and influence their exploration of art.
Growing up outside Albany, NY, Skyler spent her time in both art and dance studios. She graduated from Pratt Institute with both a bachelor’s (BFA) and master’s degree (MS) in Art and Design Education. Her master’s degree included an advanced certificate in museum studies, with her thesis on “engaging families while viewing artwork”.
Her philosophy is that since artists are always learning, there are always more ways to experiment with knowledge. From the classroom, to the gallery tours she incorporates into the lessons, she helps students discover how to interpret artwork and relate it back to their own creations. Skyler enjoys working in a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, sculpture, and ceramics. She frequently experiments with new mediums and materials in her own work.
