A black and white print of a slender tree against foliage
A print made by Dale Klein, 2010.

Dale has been with the Creative Workshop since 2011 and her association with the workshop is long and deep. Dale is a printmaker and a painter who is interested in the post-industrial landscape of Upstate New York. Courses she took as a child and then as an adult inspired her to become an artist after a career as a social worker.

At the Creative Workshop, Dale has taught and continues to teach drawing, painting, printmaking and sketchbook classes. In all of these, she is known for helping adult students find their own voice as artists, make technical and painterly decisions, and learn from both the process of creating and the work of other artists.

Dale received a BS in studio art from Nazareth College in 2006 and an MFA from Rutgers in 2010. Her prints have been exhibited in many national juried shows such as at Main St. Gallery in Clifton Springs, the rotating collection at Bausch and Lomb, two juried shows at the Print Club of Rochester (2016), and she had a two-person show at the Renaissance Art Gallery in Rochester in 2009. Dale has had solo show at the Neighborhood of the Arts Multi-use Community Cultural Center (MuCCC), 2016. She will have a solo show at the Geisel Gallery in 2018. Her work is in several public collections including Syracuse University, Hunterdon Museum of Art and the Memorial Art Gallery. Dale has been awarded residencies at Hambidge, the Millay Colony and the Vermont Studio Center, where she will be in February 2017 (she was given and artist’s grant to attend that residency). Dale was selected to create Spring House (pictured), the Memorial Art Gallery’s 2012 patron print.
