MAG’s collection of historical American art ranges from the colonial period to 1950. Highlights include 19th-century paintings by Asher B. Durand, Winslow Homer, and Lily Martin Spencer; and early 20th-century paintings and sculpture by Thomas Hart Benton, Isabel Bishop, Elizabeth Catlett, Stuart Davis, Jacob Lawrence, Georgia O’Keeffe, and John Sloan.
