ROCHESTER, NY, March 13, 2020— After consulting with a number of cultural leaders of institutions comparable to MAG in the Rochester region, it has become clear that closing our organizations is the best course of action for our community. We are all committed to the health and wellness of our staff, volunteers, and visitors, and to taking all necessary steps to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. As a result, MAG will close to the public temporarily and until further notice as of 5:00 pm today, March 13.
To ensure continuity of business operations during this period, and until further notice, MAG staff will report to work at the museum as scheduled and as appropriate.
MAG is proud to be part of the local cultural community and will continue to coordinate our actions with other leading cultural institutions, as well as to adhere to guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Monroe County and New York State Departments of Public Health.
It is our hope that the risk to public health is mitigated soon. We all look forward to welcoming our guests and visitors back to MAG. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support. Please continue to check our website for additional updates: mag.rochester.edu/events/covid-19/
