The Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester (MAG) is pleased to announce participation in Museums for All. In 2019, MAG announced an addition to the Museum’s efforts to make exhibitions and programs accessible to a broad and diverse audience which offers free museum admission, for up to four people, with the presentation of a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.
In addition to this benefit, MAG has a new offer for SNAP card holders. They can get a free membership by signing up at the museum admissions desk. This offer is available until December 31, 2023.
Edit: As of January 1, 2024, this offer has been extended until further notice.
The SNAP complimentary membership program is the newest addition to MAG’s free public offerings to encourage all members of the community to experience the Museum and join the conversation on art and creativity. Additional programs include MAGconnect and MAG’s Celebration Series, allowing Rochester community members to learn more about specific cultures through a themed day celebrating heritage. Weekly half-priced Thursday evenings offer reduced admission and often include one or more programs such as an organ concert, docent-led tours, and public lectures.

About MAGconnect
The MAGconnect program makes the Memorial Art Gallery accessible to broad and diverse audiences. It brings community members who may not otherwise come to the Museum due to financial and transportation limitations and those who may feel that a cultural institution might not be a welcoming place. MAGconnect provides free transportation and admission and a guided tour to community groups and organizations that qualify to participate. Those who visit MAG through the program can also sign up for a complimentary one-year family membership to return to the Museum and continue to enjoy its collection, exhibitions, programs, and amenities.
