Kids Create Dates

Join us for Kids Create! Kids Create Dates are Saturday drop-in classes designed to focus on hands-on art making and fun! Enjoy a play date with creativity before, after, or while your family explores the museum. Stay as little or as long as you’d like. Projects vary each week. All materials included. Sign-up for just one date…or maybe all 6! Pre-registration is required and sign-ups are by week.

Create art outside by looking at nature or using nature as your canvas! We will draw and paint from life, paint kindness rocks, and make ephemeral art! Weather permitting: part of this class will take place en plein air (aka outside!)

Join us for an exploration of everything under the sea! Together we will explore watercolors and oil pastels to create a collage of your favorite marine life in their underwater home.

Explore STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) with us through the science of colorful slime, experiment with toothpick structures, discover the art of tessellations, and make a virtual collaborative choose-your-adventure game!

Join us in creating your own story or retelling your favorite! Together we will learn how to create character designs and tell a short story using comics and illustrations.

Learn the historical and contemporary use of silhouettes in art. Together will create a painting of a landscape using silhouettes and even make a silhouette of yourself!

Join us for an exploration of printmaking! Together we will learn the tools and techniques used in printmaking and how to create prints using relief and stencil techniques.
