Painters like to say, ‘Color gets the credit, but value does the work.’ In this Art Start, we see how differences between light and dark determine the emotional effect of a painting, and how patterns of value create the forms that give it meaning. We will work with some simple watercolor exercises to see how different kinds of shadows can create a realistic scene with minimal effort. Bring an open mind and a critical eye—that’s all you need.
All materials provided.
Registration for this program starts on Monday, March 17, at 10:00 am for MAG Members, and Monday, March 17, at 10:00 am for Not-Yet-Members. Online registration ends on Thursday, May 15, at 6:00 pm.
Programs with inadequate enrollment are cancelled one week before the first meeting. We will attempt to contact you via email to find an alternative program or to refund your registration fee.
