We have a little story to tell you. It is about a camper who explored the world of storytelling and bookmaking at the MAG. Don’t tell anyone, but that camper is you! During the fourth week of summer camp, we will explore all the gallery has to offer in the way of stories, myths, and legends. Then, we will learn to create our characters and tell our stories. Do you have a story to tell? Mornings will be spent at Writers & Books dreaming up characters, carefully crafting a unique world for your story, building conflict, and writing sentences that zing off the page. Afternoons will be spent at the MAG’s Creative Workshop, learning how to illustrate an idea, choose a fitting style, and draw things you don’t yet know how to draw. At the end of the week, you’ll have the option to present an excerpt from your book and bring home your illustrated copy. All art materials are included. *Please note that Writers & Books members will receive a 10% discount on this program. Please call the Creative Workshop office to register over the phone.
All materials provided.
Instruction begins at 9:00 am and ends at 4:30 pm, but you may drop off your child as early as 8:30 am and pick up as late as 5:00 pm. There is no extra charge for this supervised before-care and after-care.
Registration for this program starts on Monday, January 6, at 10:00 am for MAG Members, and Monday, January 13, at 10:00 am for Not-Yet-Members. Online registration ends on Monday, July 28, at 9:00 am.
Programs with inadequate enrollment are cancelled one week before the first meeting. We will attempt to contact you via email to find an alternative program or to refund your registration fee.
