“This piece represents ideas of action, fortitude, perseverance, endurance, and sacrifice.”
Join us for an immersive, meditative subseries inspired by Bill Viola’s Martyrs video installation situated prominently in our awe inspiring Fountain Court. Guided by Harold Taddy & Teagan West, each session will introduce guests to one of the four primary elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water.
While some movement will be instructed, Martyrs Meditations will have a ceremonial quality that differs from typical yoga classes. Our focus will be on sound immersion with the inclusion of verbally guided meditation. Each session will be unique and serve as a means of conceptual exploration through these different elemental realities. Expect to reach exceptionally deep states of relaxation, meet like minded folks, and experience art in an exciting new way!
Earth: Yoga Nidra & guided drum meditation
Settle into stillness. Move with intention. Let the sound guide you.
