A-Tisket, A-Tasket, a clay woven basket! Have you ever woven with clay?! Roll up your sleeves and dive into clay together! In this four-week caregiver and child ceramics class, you’ll create pottery side by side. Using techniques like pinching, rolling, and slabs, you’ll form a woven basket, then design springtime treasures to go inside. Will you make clay fruit, flowers, or something else? You’ll also make a sculptural ceramic piece to paint. In the last class, you’ll journey upstairs, guided by your instructor, to view the amazing art in the Memorial Art Gallery. All your artwork will be taken home that day! Note: the fruit props featured in the ceramic basket picture are not made of clay, but we can’t wait to see your clay creations in your basket!
