This course introduces new students to the basics of the potter’s wheel—how to wedge clay, center, throw cylinders, trim, and glaze. Continuing students will build skills by learning how to create bowls and plates. Your teacher will demonstrate and provide hands-on help when needed. Students benefit from repeating this course. Please bring an old kitchen-sized towel you don’t mind getting dirty with you.

Materials

NEW: Clay will be provided to students. Glazes and firing are also included in the class price. Please bring an old kitchen-sized towel you don’t mind getting dirty with you, and please wear closed-toed shoes.

Registration Information

Registration for this program starts on Monday, December 8, at 10:00 am for MAG Members, and Monday, December 15, at 10:00 am for Not-Yet-Members. Online registration ends on Monday, January 12, at 9:30 am.

Programs with inadequate enrollment are cancelled one week before the first meeting. We will attempt to contact you via email to find an alternative program or to refund your registration fee.
