6 weeks, Thursdays

Taught by: Jason Ferguson

This course introduces new students to the basics of the potter’s wheel—how to wedge clay, center, throw cylinders, trim, and glaze. Continuing students will build skills by learning how to make bowls and plates. Your teacher will demonstrate and give you hands-on help when needed. Students benefit from repeating this course. Please bring an old kitchen-size towel you don’t mind getting dirty with you.

Materials

Students will need to purchase clay for their own use. Clay in different varieties is available at the Creative Workshop for $18.00 for a 25-lb bag. Glazes and firing are included in the price of the class. Please bring an old kitchen-size towel you don’t mind getting dirty with you.
