Are you ready to travel through the rainbow? This first week of summer camp will be a deep dive into all the colors in MAG’s Collection with a lens on personal identity. Campers will be introduced to color theory and selfhood concepts while exploring how artists like Clementine Hunter, Joseph Cornell, Faith Ringgold, and Rashid Johnson have used color to explore personal narratives. Campers will experience age-old techniques working in clay and learn the basic skills needed to center clay and throw on the wheel, all while building confidence and creative expression as they create fun, functional pieces and capture the essence of nature in their details. When not working with clay, we will explore a variety of other media. All art materials are included.
All materials provided.
Instruction begins at 9:00 am and ends at 4:30 pm, but you may drop off your child as early as 8:30 am and pick up as late as 5:00 pm. There is no extra charge for this supervised before-care and after-care.
Registration for this program starts on Monday, January 6, at 10:00 am for MAG Members, and Monday, January 13, at 10:00 am for Not-Yet-Members. Online registration ends on Monday, July 7, at 9:00 am.
Programs with inadequate enrollment are cancelled one week before the first meeting. We will attempt to contact you via email to find an alternative program or to refund your registration fee.
