Are you ready to travel through the rainbow? This first week of summer camp will be a deep dive into all the colors in MAG’s Collection with a lens on personal identity. Campers will be introduced to color theory and selfhood concepts while exploring how artists like Clementine Hunter, Joseph Cornell, Faith Ringgold, and Rashid Johnson have used color to explore personal narratives. This week, our teen campers will sample multiple mediums, creating pieces focusing on self-expression. Campers will try their hand at tie-dying, jewelry making, and practicing traditional art forms like drawing and painting. Campers will also visit the museum through the lens of LGBTQIA+ art within the MAG’s collection.
All materials provided.
Instruction begins at 1:30 pm and ends at 4:30 pm, but you may pick up your child up as late as 5:00 pm. There is no extra charge for this supervised before-care and after-care.
Registration for this program starts on Monday, January 6, at 10:00 am for MAG Members, and Monday, January 13, at 10:00 am for Not-Yet-Members. Online registration ends on Monday, July 7, at 1:30 pm.
Programs with inadequate enrollment are cancelled one week before the first meeting. We will attempt to contact you via email to find an alternative program or to refund your registration fee.
