Are you ready to travel through the rainbow? This first week of summer camp will be a deep dive into all the colors in MAG’s Collection with a lens on personal identity. Campers will be introduced to color theory and selfhood concepts while exploring how artists like Clementine Hunter, Joseph Cornell, Faith Ringgold, and Rashid Johnson have used color to explore personal narratives. Campers will explore various art media while reflecting on concepts of color theory and personal narrative, including colorful self-portraits, vivid abstractions, and other projects that reflect artists from the collection. For the clay portion of their day, campers will explore hand-building techniques and make sculptures and useful objects out of clay and glaze.
