Ben is originally from Long Island, where he started learning ceramics in high school. During college at both Alfred University and Brockport College, Ben took classes with Lori Mills, John Gill, Ann Currier and Wayne Higby.

He enjoys teaching students of all skill levels and “meets students where they are” to support them in their own skill building and growth as artists. He loves a challenge and his favorite pieces to make are commissions–working with someone to realize their vision with his personal touch is very satisfying. Every summer, you can find him selling his work at 5 or 6 festivals!

Ben splits his time between pottery and parenting his son. He also plays drums in a local band, as well as piano. He loves cooking and learning in the kitchen. He is also interested in global history, cosmology and quantum physics, but do most of it learning in documentary form.
