DESCRIPTION:Taught by: Joan Nichols \nSet an intention for the New Year by engaging your creative soul in our next Yoga + Art workshop. \nWe will start our time together in the Fountain Court for a peaceful gentle yoga class followed by a an art making session in the Creative Workshop. During our artmaking time you will create a “Sign of Devotion”. Your “Sign of Devotion” will be a gentle reminder throughout the year that can hang on your wall to have courage\, joy\, trust in yourself and open to possibility. \nThis is a wonderful way to begin the New Year. I look forward to seeing you all on your mat and in the studio! \nMaterials\nYou will need a yoga mat\, two yoga blocks\, and a sketchbook or art journal of your choice. \nRegistration Information\nRegistration for this program starts on Monday\, December 8\, at 10:00 am for MAG Members\, and Monday\, December 15\, at 10:00 am for Not-Yet-Members. Online registration ends on Thursday\, January 1\, at 9:30 am. \nPrograms with inadequate enrollment are cancelled one week before the first meeting. DESCRIPTION:“This piece represents ideas of action\, fortitude\, perseverance\, endurance\, and sacrifice.” \nJoin us for an immersive\, meditative subseries inspired by Bill Viola’s Martyrs video installation situated prominently in our awe inspiring Fountain Court. Guided by Harold Taddy & Teagan West\, each session will introduce guests to one of the four primary elements: Earth\, Air\, Fire\, Water. \nWhile some movement will be instructed\, Martyrs Meditations will have a ceremonial quality that differs from typical yoga classes. Our focus will be on sound immersion with the inclusion of verbally guided meditation. Each session will be unique and serve as a means of conceptual exploration through these different elemental realities. DESCRIPTION:Peter Dubois\, organ\nMary DuBois\, narrator \nJoin us for the third concert in the 2025-26 Third Thursday concert season\, a mixed holiday concert of readings and music from the 16th to 21st centuries featuring Eastman alumni Peter Dubois\, organ\, Mary Dubois\, narrator\, and a vocal ensemble. \nOn the third Thursday of each month\, from October through May\, the Eastman School of Music and the Memorial Art Gallery present varied concert programs by faculty and guest artists featuring Eastman’s Italian Baroque Organ. These Third Thursday Concerts are included with museum admission after 5:00 pm and are made possible by the Rippey Endowed Trust. \nAll concerts begin at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early\, as seating is limited and available on a first-come basis.

DESCRIPTION:Going for Baroque is a weekly series of mini-recitals at the Memorial Art Gallery. It is offered each Sunday at 1:30 pm and again at 3:00 pm. It offers the opportunity for students from the Eastman School of Music to perform alongside professional musicians on the Italian Baroque organ on the second floor of the museum. The 25-minute mini-recital is included with museum admission. \nOwned by the Eastman School of Music\, the fully restored Italian Baroque organ is the only full-size antique Italian organ in North America. The organ is the centerpiece of an installation that highlights more than 30 major Baroque-period paintings and sculptures.
