We will master the mechanics of ink and metal nib work\, gaining familiarity with the materials and essential methods to achieve fluidity of line\, line variation\, hatching\, texture\, and controlled mark-making. We will integrate transparent watercolor washes to build depth and color harmony\, drawing on approaches found across the lineage of medieval and Renaissance drawings up through contemporary art and illustration. DESCRIPTION:Going for Baroque is a weekly series of mini-recitals at the Memorial Art Gallery. It is offered each Sunday at 1:30 pm and again at 3:00 pm. It offers the opportunity for students from the Eastman School of Music to perform alongside professional musicians on the Italian Baroque organ on the second floor of the museum. The 25-minute mini-recital is included with museum admission. \nOwned by the Eastman School of Music\, the fully restored Italian Baroque organ is the only full-size antique Italian organ in North America. The organ is the centerpiece of an installation that highlights more than 30 major Baroque-period paintings and sculptures.
