SUMMARY:Going for Baroque
DESCRIPTION:Going for Baroque is a weekly series of mini-recitals at the Memorial Art Gallery. It is offered each Sunday at 1:30 pm and again at 3:00 pm. It offers the opportunity for students from the Eastman School of Music to perform alongside professional musicians on the Italian Baroque organ on the second floor of the museum. The 25-minute mini-recital is included with museum admission. \nOwned by the Eastman School of Music\, the fully restored Italian Baroque organ is the only full-size antique Italian organ in North America. The organ is the centerpiece of an installation that highlights more than 30 major Baroque-period paintings and sculptures.

Students will immerse themselves in Turkish water marbling\, also known as Ebru\, then bind their own books or journals! In the first two classes\, Ashley will demonstrate the paper marbling process with traditional marbled patterns. Students will explore color and pattern combinations in individual stations and create several sheets of marbled paper.
