DESCRIPTION:Natalie Rogers-Cropper\, who is a world-renowned\, top female modern dancer and distinguished Bessie Award winner\, will be presenting the history of Garth Fagan and its significance in dance. \nJoin us at 10:30 am for coffee and a meet-and-greet! The talk starts at 11:00 am. \nAbout the Speaker\nNatalie Rogers-Cropper joined Garth Fagan Dance in 1989. Rogers-Cropper was recognized as one of the top three female modern dancers worldwide and represented Garth Fagan Dance at the 66th Annual Academy Awards. DESCRIPTION:Going for Baroque is a weekly series of mini-recitals at the Memorial Art Gallery. It is offered each Sunday at 1:30 pm and again at 3:00 pm. It offers the opportunity for students from the Eastman School of Music to perform alongside professional musicians on the Italian Baroque organ on the second floor of the museum. The 25-minute mini-recital is included with museum admission. \nOwned by the Eastman School of Music\, the fully restored Italian Baroque organ is the only full-size antique Italian organ in North America. The organ is the centerpiece of an installation that highlights more than 30 major Baroque-period paintings and sculptures.

New students will learn all the essentials- how to wedge clay\, center confidently\, throw cylinders\, trim\, and glaze. Continuing students can level up by creating bowls\, plates\, and other wheel-thrown wonders. Your instructor will demo each step and offer hands-on help whenever you need it. DESCRIPTION:Did you know that Impressionism was considered radical and ridiculed by critics? Let’s explore together the artistic movement that changed the course of art history! We’ll view the exhibition Frontiers of Impressionism: Paintings from the Worcester Art Museum and use Artful Thinking Routines to discuss the lasting changes these progressive artists brought to the art world through their individual perceptions of reality. This workshop will also include a creative activity guided by a Teaching Artist. \nParticipants will earn 2.5 CTLE credit hours upon completion. Light refreshments provided.
