We will master the mechanics of ink and metal nib work\, gaining familiarity with the materials and essential methods to achieve fluidity of line\, line variation\, hatching\, texture\, and controlled mark-making. We will integrate transparent watercolor washes to build depth and color harmony\, drawing on approaches found across the lineage of medieval and Renaissance drawings up through contemporary art and illustration. This independent work studio time will allow for continuing projects and individualized support from rotating instructors. Students can sign up for as few or as many sessions as they want. Any work made during this time will be bisque for the next session. \nMaterials\nStudents will need to purchase clay for their use. Clay in different varieties is available at the Creative Workshop for $18.00 for a 25lb bag. Glazes and firing are included in the price of the class.
