Mark Thone

Creative Workshop Faculty

For Mark, the spark that turned into his professional jewelry career started in classes at the Creative Workshop. After taking Beginning Jewelry with Joanne Lachiusa, he worked as a bench jeweler for a year before deciding to go back to school.

In 2012 he earned a BFA in metals from RIT’s School of American Craft and continued the following school year as a studio resident and teachers assistant.  Since 2008, Mark has been the sole proprietor of Heart on Sleeve jewelry, covering custom work in anything from body jewelry to traditional metal jewelry.

Working in a broad range of materials and styles, Mark has a lot to offer to students of the MAG workshops.  He brings fresh ideas to class while combining both classical and contemporary techniques.
