Janet Lipp has been a Rochestarian since 1966 when her father, Fred Lipp (former advanced painting teacher at MAG), brought the family here. She previously taught in the clay department as a young artist.

At RIT, Janet studied weaving and textiles in the School for American Crafts and painting in the art department. She earned an MFA in sculpture from Edinboro University in Pennsylvania and an Art Education Certification from Nazareth College.

janetlippJanet currently works in small bronze figurative sculpture and performance art. Her work has been shown locally and around the country including in New York City and California. She is the recipient of a Puffin Foundation Grant, NYFA Entrepreneur Residency, Atlantic Center for the Arts Residency and Arts for Greater Rochester SOS Grant. Visit her website
