Tom Carpenter

Tom Carpenter is an artist and educator who has exhibited and taught internationally. A creative workshop instructor since 2000, Tom has taught drawing, photography and clay. He works to collaborate with, support, and encourage his students.

Tom earned an M.A. in Multidisciplinary studies. Buffalo State Collage and a B.S. in Art Education at Nazareth College. He started his art education here at the Creative Workshop.

Carpenter is regarded as a leading practitioner of Electrophotography who has contributed his knowledge and work to Photographic Possibilities: The Expressive Use of Concepts, Ideas, Materials, and Processes, Fourth Edition.  Tom has taught workshops at the Whitney Museum of American Art that introduced participants to the relatively unknown history of the early photo copy and flat plate photography.
