After earning a BA in art education from Buffalo State College, Paul developed his throwing skills while working as a production potter. His own line of functional stoneware and Raku is represented locally by Craft Company No. 6. His work has been featured in Rochester Magazine and the Democrat and Chronicle.

Paul was previously employed as an instructor/ceramic technician for the University of Buffalo, where he first began to enjoy sharing his knowledge, technical skills and enthusiasm for working in clay with others.

In 2008, Paul was chosen as a teaching artist for the Side by Side project in which he collaborated with student Patrick Warren. Their artwork was on view in most recent  Creative Workshop Faculty Show and online.
