Summer 2012: Rochester Art Club

Celebrating Regional Art

Harvey Ellis pastel of Rochester railroad stationOn your way to the 5th Rochester Biennial, see works from the early years of the Rochester Art Club. Founded in 1877, the Club counted many early champions of MAG among its members, and its president, George Herdle, would go on to become the Gallery’s first director. The exhibit, now on view in the Forman Gallery, will be the subject of a June 3 What’s Up talk by Jessica Marten, curator of American art.
