Ed McDonald

Rochester businessman and philanthropist Edward D. McDonald died June 28, 2015 at his home in Pittsford. He was 91.

Ed was a generous donor to the Memorial Art Gallery, where the entry plaza in front of the main entrance is named in honor of his family. He also donated such major works of art as George Harvey’s Pittsford on the Erie Canal (1837) and Anna Hyatt Huntington’s bronze Joan of Arc (1915), both given in memory of his first wife, Margaret; and Mary Taylor’s sculpture Filly (2008), which honors his widow, Marilynn. learn more
