In Memoriam: Bob Hursh

Bob Hursh

hurshLongtime MAG Board member and museum patron Robert D. Hursh died June 28, 2015. He was 88.

A lawyer and retired chairman of Lawyer’s Cooperative Publishing, Bob was Board President from 1994 to 96. With his wife, Willy, he was a longtime Director’s Circle member and a generous donor to MAG. Among the couple’s gifts were funds for exhibition underwriting (most recently for The Human Touch), major support of the MAG’s Centennial Campaign, and gifts of art including the Nancy Jurs sculptures that stand near the main entrance. In spite of failing health, Bob remained an important contributor to MAG’s Art Committee.

He was also generous across the community, notably with the RPO; at one time he served on the boards of more than a dozen civic and cultural organizations.

“Bob’s guidance and commitment to the MAG were tremendously valuable,” says director Jonathan Binstock.
