Presidents’ Day Ceremony: 1-1:45
Presented by Military Representatives, Purple Heart Medal Recipients and Pittsford Schools Students:

  • History of Presidents’ Week
  • Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and Washington’s Farewell Address
  • History of Purple Heart Medal and local Medal recipient interviews
  • An engaging student-led presentation on:
    Leonard Wells Volk’s Life Mask and Hands of Abraham Lincoln, George Grey Barnard’s Abraham Lincoln, Hale Woodruff’s Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln Discussing Emancipation (shown above) and Rembrandt Peale’s Porthole Portrait of George Washington
  • Period music played by Pittsford music students
  • Flag salute, incorporating a flag that was flown over Mount Vernon
  • Seeing America Docent Tours: 1:45-2:15
