DESCRIPTION:Taught by: Cheese & Charcuterie \nExperience charcuterie through the lens of art! Hosted at the Memorial Art Gallery\, this interactive class will draw inspiration from a selected painting or mural within the museum. Guests will use the artwork’s colors\, textures\, and details as inspiration to create their own edible masterpieces.\nEach guest will build a generously sized charcuterie board featuring a premium selection of cheeses\, cured meats\, and thoughtfully paired accompaniments—all while learning techniques to bring the featured artwork to life through food.\nClasses typically run 60–75 minutes and include everything needed\, from fresh ingredients and boards to all supplies. Guests can enjoy their creations together during the event or take their finished boards home to share. We will master the mechanics of ink and metal nib work\, gaining familiarity with the materials and essential methods to achieve fluidity of line\, line variation\, hatching\, texture\, and controlled mark-making. We will integrate transparent watercolor washes to build depth and color harmony\, drawing on approaches found across the lineage of medieval and Renaissance drawings up through contemporary art and illustration. Online registration ends on Monday\, September 14\, at 9:30 am. \nPrograms with inadequate enrollment are canceled one week before the first meeting.
