Members’ Opening Parties

MAG members, don’t miss the chance to enjoy live music and entertainment—and see our exhibitions ahead of the crowd!

“Flip the Switch!” Thursday, June 29, 6:30–10 pm | FREE | Open to the Public
Jim SanbornMAG commissioned artist, Jim Sanborn, to make a public work of art for the area in front of our 1913 building. Argentum: Double-Positive consists of placing two projection cylinders in front of the “1913”. These cylinders are perforated with a series of texts that will light up at night (with the aid of an internal point source light) and projected widely onto the facade and surrounding landscape of MAG’s 1913 building.

To further the celebration, Shine will play on the MAG 1913 front steps! Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and a picnic basket. Ice cream and concessions will also be available for purchase. At sundown, Fast Forward Film Festival will offer an exclusive viewing of their 11 local, award-winning short environmental films. Then, get ready to share the moment when we “Flip the Switch” on the latest public art in the Neighborhood of the Arts!
