2011 Clothesline Merit Awards

The envelope, please…

Nancy Topolski won a merit award at the 2011 Clothesline FestivalWinners of eleven merit awards were announced on September 10 at the M&T Bank Clothesline Festival. They were Dan Bentley of Rochester, mixed media; José Berenguer of Wolcott, wood; Stacey Esslinger of Corning, ceramics; Jim Laragy of Webster, photography; Constance Mauro of Rochester, mixed media; Blynn Nelson (Reckless Necklace) of Rochester, jewelry; Sara Silvio of Rochester, jewelry; Carolyn Dilcher Stutz of Rochester, ceramics; Nancy Topolski of Rochester, fiber (pictured above); Myung Urso of Rochester, jewelry; and Carly Wright of Berne, jewelry.

They were chosen from more than 400 New York state artists at the 55th annual fine art and crafts festival, which also featured live entertainment, art demonstrations and children’s activities.

Congratulations to all and a special note to three (Sara Silvio, Nancy Topolski and Carolyn Dilcher Stutz) who teach or have taught in the Gallery’s Creative Workshop. Topolski was also one of the artists in the 63rd Rochester-Finger Lakes Exhibition, and Silvio and Carly Wright were on hand at MAG’s 11th annual Fine Craft Show.
