Loraine Cooley has taught jewelry at the Creative Workshop since 1987.
Cooley earned a BFA in jewelry and metalsmithing at RIT and certification in art education for grades K-12 at Nazareth College. She has also exhibited at RIT’s Dyer Gallery; Craft Art of Western NY, Buffalo; Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center, Auburn; Etienne Gallery, Maine; and Downey Museum of Art, CA. Her jewelry was published in The Art and Craft of Making Jewelry (2006).
At MAG, her work has been selected for seven Rochester-Finger Lakes Exhibitions; most recently, she was one of three artists from the 2013 show invited to give lectures. In November, her work will be included for the seventh time in the juried Fine Craft Show and Sale; in 2012 she was awarded Best in Show.
