Artist Eddie Lamar Davis, formerly of Rochester, died January 7 in Knoxville, TN.
From the 1960s through the 1980s, Davis was actively involved at the Memorial Art Gallery, teaching here and at MAG’s outreach center The Allofus Workshop. He is shown with his work in the 1975 Exposure 4 exhibition, the first show at MAG to showcase local African American artists.
Davis’s survivors include son Eddie Davis III of Rochester, a well-known community artist who currently teaches at MAG’s Creative Workshop.
