"The Integrity of the Ancient Hand: Conserving the Rochester Coffins," a 30-minute video specially commissioned to document the study and conservation of the coffins, is available for loan from the Teacher Resource Center and will be on sale in the Gallery Store. Follow the journey of conservator Mimi Leveque and Egyptologist Joyce Haynes as their work on the coffins opens the door to ancient Egypt. Explore the techniques of ancient Egyptian craftsmen and the scientific practices of 21st-century conservators, and learn the identity and religious beliefs of the original owner of the coffins—a man named Pa-debehu-Aset, who lived and died 2,300 years ago.
