Sunday Baroque Organ Concerts

Going for Baroque is a weekly series of mini-recitals. It offers the opportunity for students from the Eastman School of Music to perform along side professional musicians on the Italian Baroque organ on the second floor of the museum.

Third Thursday Concerts at MAG

Special one-hour programs featuring Eastman’s spectacular Italian Baroque Organ. Concerts begin at 7:30 pm in the MAG Fountain Court and are included with museum admission. Seating is unreserved and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Edoardo Bellotti, organ with Paul O’Dette, lute

A rare opportunity to hear these renowned early music performers in concert together with music from 17th century Italy. Bellotti serves as Associate Professor of Organ, Harpsichord, and Improvisation at the Eastman School of Music; O’Dette is Professor of Lute and Director of the Collegium Musicum, Eastman’s early-music ensemble.

The concert will feature solo and duo works by Frescobaldi, Dowland, Scheidemann, Monteverdi, Kapsberger, and Kerll.

“Music in Secret”: Early Italian Convent Music

This program explores the ‘secret’ cloistered world of early Italian convent music. Selections include medieval chant, Renaissance choral music, and Baroque vocal and organ solos. Schola Antiqua of Chicago (director: Michael Alan Anderson) is a professional early music ensemble dedicated to the performance of music before 1600.
