Going for Baroque
is a weekly series of mini-recitals. It offers the opportunity for students from the Eastman School of Music to perform along side professional musicians on the Italian Baroque organ on the second floor of the museum.shown: Two Musicians, Bernardo Strozzi, 1630-1635
Special one-hour programs featuring Eastman’s spectacular Italian Baroque Organ. Concerts begin at 7:30 pm in the MAG Fountain Court and are included with museum admission. Seating is unreserved and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

This program explores the ‘secret’ cloistered world of early Italian convent music. Selections include medieval chant, Renaissance choral music, and Baroque vocal and organ solos. Schola Antiqua of Chicago (director: Michael Alan Anderson) is a professional early music ensemble dedicated to the performance of music before 1600.
