In January 2014, the Gallery Council sponsored a week-long trip to Cuba licensed by People to People. The group spent time in Havana, Vinales Valley, Cienfuegos and Trinidad; toured museums, historic sites and artist studios; and enjoyed unique educational experiences. In spring 2014, an exhibition at Image City Photography Gallery on University Avenue featured art by 15 of the travelers, their Cuban guide, and two professional Cuban photographers who worked with them. Pictured: In 1889, Vincent van Gogh committed himself to the Saint-Paul Asylum in Saint-Rémy (now the Clinique Van Gogh). During his year there he would produce such masterpieces as Starry Night.
