Angela Amato has been a working artist, teaching and painting in the Rochester area for many years. Since 2010, she has taught beginning and intermediate painting, and drawing to adults and teens. She also enjoys teaching children painting techniques and skills.
Angela teaches children through the Museum of Kids Art (MOKA) and Project VITAL and has been an artist-in-residence at the George Eastman Museum and here at the Memorial Art Gallery. She has received awards from the Rockefeller Foundation, the Wilmount Foundation and the Andy Warhol Foundation.
Angela’s own work spans acrylic and oil paintings and drawings, both derived from observation—particularly in Italy—and working abstractly in her studio. The Alex Gallery in Washington, DC, represents some of her work.
