Sue Barnes is an artist from Rochester, NY. She has an impressive history of involvement in the greater Rochester Arts Community, both as a practicing artist and as an educator.

She has extensive experience in ceramics, but more recently has been interested in fiber arts. Much of Sue’s fiber work includes whimsical creatures designed to inspire childlike joy in others. Sue has been a teacher at the Creative Workshop for nearly 20 years. Outside of the MAG she has taught at Flower City Arts Center and The Studio. She believes that in the classroom everyone should be having fun, have their hands busy and be engaged in a project they care about.

For her own work Sue has been featured in Artist’s Row and the Craft Company. Outside of her work she is a family person, enjoys camping and kayaking with her husband, three great dogs and three great children.
