Phyllis Bryce-Ely has taught at the Creative Workshop since 2006. She is primarily a landscape painter who works en plein air and passes along to her students her passion and enthusiasm for painting and the outdoors.
Phyllis’s honors and recognition include awards at the Memorial
Art Gallery’s Clothesline Festival and Sonnenberg Arts Festival in Canandaigua. Her work has been included in prestigious juried exhibitions including MAG’s Rochester-Finger Lakes Exhibition, where in 2013 she received the Gertrude Herdle Moore/Isabel Herdle Award, given by The Gallery Council.
Phyllis earned a BA in painting/fine arts at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Her work is featured in corporate and private collections. She is represented by the Oxford Gallery, the Gallery Store of the Memorial Art Gallery, and the Mill Art Center, and is a member of the Genesee Valley Plein Air Painters.
An avid curler as well as an artist, Phyllis lives in Penfield with her husband and daughter. Learn more
