NMaria Friskeew to the Workshop! Maria is a dynamic working artist, teacher and advocate for the Rochester community and the arts. A founder of the annual Artist Row Public Market Arts Fair in 2005, she was recognized in 2010 by event organizers who re-named the Best of Show Award in her honor. The University of Rochester, Arts and Cultural Council for Greater Rochester, Rochester Contemporary and Memorial Art Gallery are among the institutions that have exhibited her unique multi-dimensional work. She has taught painting at the University of Rochester and Nazareth College and design at Monroe Community College.

Maria was commissioned to design an outdoor mural by the Swillburg Neighborhood Association through the Arts & Cultural Council’s Culture Builds Communities Block Grant Program. The five-panel metal and acrylic work was permanently installed in August 2006. more about the mural
